Summer Esports Bootcamps

The St. Clair College Esports program is excited to announce our Summer Esports Bootcamps for ages 8-17 that will take place in the Esports Nexus located at St. Clair College’s South Campus!

We will be offering esports centered activities with a selection of VALORANT, Fortnite, League of Legends and more, instructed by our Varsity Esports Coaches, Players and students from the Esports Administration diploma program. Campers will participate in a variety of activities including in-game development, technical skills in esports content and production, and learning about the importance of health during off-screen time.


Bootcamp Highlights:

  • Developing in-game skills.

  • Learning a balance between games and physical well being.

  • Learning catered to varying skill levels.

  • Structured activities covering effective practice techniques, performance reviews, scrimmage etiquette and more.

  • Opportunity to explore and try different roles in Esports production such as shoutcasting, directing, game observing and more.

  • Opportunity to explore and create Esports centered content such as video editing, streaming and more.

  • Compete in tournaments against fellow camp-goers throughout the week

  • Featured game titles include Rocket League, VALORANT, Fortnite, and League of Legends— Offering will be flexible to suit the wants and needs of camp-goers

DATES AND PROGRAMMING

[WEEK ONE]

[WEEK TWO]
July 8-12th: Esports Broadcast and Content Creation

From working the commentary desk to running a live show behind the scenes, Campers will have the opportunity to try out different roles and put on their very own live broadcasts using our inhouse equipment and state-of-the-art facility. In addition to this, Campers will have the opportunity to create content from these broadcasts, learn how to create their own showreels and best editing practices.

[WEEK THREE]
July 22-26th: Introduction to Esports

Campers will have the opportunity to explore all aspects of esports from competing to broadcasting. This Introduction week is perfect for creating a strong foundation of understanding and learning how to use entry programs such as OBS, CapCut and more.

[WEEK FOUR]
July 29-Aug 2nd: Competing in an Esports Team (VALORANT)

During this week, Campers will learn what it takes to be a top collegiate player and exceptional teammate from our Varsity Esports teams who are all ranked #1 in Canada. They will be be forming teams at the beginning of the week and bootcamping with our Varsity Coaches and Players to learn proper scrimmage etiquette, ideal practice schedules, how to self review their gameplay and more. There will be a full day tournament at the end of the week where we will crown the most improved team. The game selection for this week will be VALORANT.


PRICES:
Week One: $300.00 (tax not included)
Week Two, Three, Four: $350.00 per week (tax not included)

  • Arrival: 8:30AM (Early Drop Off: 8:00AM)

  • Departure: 5:00PM (Extended Care: 5:00-6:00PM)

  • Ages: 8-17

  • Competitive video gaming, known as Esports is a rapidly growing industry with amateur, collegiate, and professional levels of competition. St. Clair College is proud to be the first post-secondary institution in Canada to fully recognize and embrace Esports with an academic program, varsity teams and on campus events.

    Similar to traditional athletics, all of our players earn scholarships to compete in video gaming leagues against colleges and universities all around North America. We have state of the art training facilities on campus and a dedicated staff of coaches that help our players perform at the highest possible level. Throughout the year, our teams travel to live events throughout Ontario, Michigan and Quebec to compete against the best.

  • Just your lunch and an attitude for improvement! We provide PC’s and peripherals for all players.

  • Featured game titles include Rocket League, VALORANT, Fortnite, Overwatch, League of Legends and more- Offering will be flexible to suit the wants and needs of camp-goers

  • There will be Tim Hortons and Subway available to purchase right on campus.
