St. Clair Saints Join Esport Canada Post-Secondary

 
 

Windsor, Ontario. St. Clair Saints Esports is pleased to announce that it has joined Esport Canada. As an independent advisory board, Esport Canada Post-Secondary (ECPS) is the national voice for the development of programs across the nation whose goals are to elevate post-secondary esports while advocating on their behalf. 

“This initiative will help foster the growth of national programs old and new.” says St. Clair College Esports Director, Shaun Byrne. “There is a need for a unified voice of Canadian esports at not just the national level, but international as well. Esport Canada's goal is to ensure that voice is heard.”   

Esport Canada Post-Secondary Pillars include: 

Advocacy 

Advocate on behalf of Canadian programs to ensure they are being considered and that their needs are being met by:  

  • North American Leagues

  • Publishers

  • Government

Recognition  

Recognize Canadian programs through: 

  • Canadian Power Rankings

  • National Tournaments

  • Acknowledging the accomplishments of coaches, staff, players, and students

Education 

  • Encourage more Canadian institutions to invest in esports

  • Help develop new Canadian varsity esports programs

  • Guide student esports clubs in their pursuit of varsity recognition and support

  • Define what being a varsity program means by establishing Standards of Excellence

Esport Canada Post-Secondary’s membership is open to all who apply. It currently consists of 10+ Colleges and Universities including Conestoga College, Durham College, Fanshawe College, Georgian College, Keyano College, Lambton College, Simon Fraser University, St. Clair College, University of Alberta, University of Windsor and others. ECPS is governed by a Council who collectively represent Ontario, Quebec, Maritimes and the West.
