Former St. Clair Saints Captain Mirel Braco “Kyu” Hrustemovic Joins Sentinels’ VALORANT Pro Team
Former the captain of the St. Clair Saints VALORANT team, Mirel Braco “Kyu” Hrustemovic has earned himself a place among the elite as part of the Sentinels VALORANT roster.
Hrustemovic, of Windsor, joined the St. Clair College esports program in 2022 as a walk-on player. His leadership and talent quickly became evident, and he was soon named team captain. Under his guidance, the Saints captured two NACE North American championships, two Canadian national titles, and earned the honor of representing Canada at the 2023 Red Bull Campus Clutch tournament held in Istanbul, Turkey.
“We knew immediately that he had all the skills to succeed; they just needed to be honed,” said Chris Funston, Assistant Esports Director. “He was a tremendous leader with undeniable talent. It was really just a matter of time for him and for the pro teams to see what he could offer.”
Sentinels are one of VALORANT’s most successful organizations, becoming the first team to win an international VALORANT event with their undefeated run at VCT Masters Reykjavík 2021. They made history again in 2024 by winning VCT Masters Madrid, becoming the first-ever two-time Masters champions.
