In January 2019, students in the Esports Administration and Entrepreneurship program started a club level team for the Virtual Reality game Echo Arena. In their first season they managed to take home a National Championship. This year as a newly minted varsity team under Saints Gaming the team earned their second National Championship title.

Throughout the regular season, the team was head and shoulders above the competition. Through 5 regular season matches the team remained undefeated and earned a bye to the playoffs. This bye meant a month off from competition. The other teams in the league took advantage of the practice and gave the Saints a run for their money in the playoffs.

In the Semi-Final the Saints managed to take down Baylor easily enough but the Finals were a different story. Texas Tech University put up quite the battle. It wasn’t until the final minutes of the game that St. Clair was able to take the lead. A long shot from captain Andrew “Mizuchi” Clements sealed the game with a 27-23 victory.

Clements will look to rally his teammates Yazan “zrglitch” Ismail and Nickolas “Blacklabelx88x” Chapman to a three-peat in the spring tournament.
