St. Clair VALORANT to represent Canada at Red Bull Campus Clutch World Finals

St. Clair College will represent Canada at the Red Bull Campus Clutch World Finals in Istanbul, Turkey after winning the Canadian National Championship.

The Saints entered the National Championship this past weekend as the 2nd seed. In the Group Stage, they defeated Western University, University of Calgary and University of British Columbia to qualify for the single-elimination playoff bracket.

In the quarterfinals, Saints Varsity took down the St. Clair Academy team, 2-1, who also made it to playoffs. They next matched up against Conestoga College in the semifinals where the Saints earned a decisive victory and advanced to the Grand Finals.

With a spot in Istanbul on the line, the Saints matched up against last year’s Canadian Champions, Torch (representing Simon Fraser University and University of Alberta). In a thrilling series, the Saints came out on top, 2-1, securing the Canadian National Championship and their spot at the World Finals in Istanbul.

"I’m incredibly proud of our team’s performance throughout this semester,” said VALORANT Head Coach Owen Mantha. “We've been working very hard over the last couple months and it paid off. We'll represent Canada well in Istanbul, and hope to bring the trophy home."

From Nov. 19-24, the Saints will represent Canada to take on teams from 34 other countries at the Volkswagen Arena in Istanbul, Turkey to crown the best collegiate team in the world.

This is the second time a St. Clair Saints Varsity Esports team will represent Canada in international competition. In 2022, the Saints Rocket League team was selected as Team Canada for the Commonwealth Games in the Birmingham, UK.
